Yet another childhood memory... Ultima VII, now available for play on Windows, Linux, etc.
Check out Exult which ported the game engine to run on "modern" computers. (Try doing that with the DOS game and everybody moves around like the Flash.)
Latest downloads of Exult. You might also want to try a Google search for some abandoned version of Ultima 7. Legality of the latter, well, I haven't finished law school yet so I can't tell you if it's legal or not... proceed with caution.
Also of interest once you start playing the game again are some resources to help solve some of the pesky puzzles. =P
